Welding Rods & Electrodes

All welding rods come with factory CE marking and material test certification. To complete a stick welding job with the correct product, study the welding classifications & select product accordingly. Classifications are covered by a four digit code. This code represents coating, strength & positional capability.

Mild & stainless steel Welding Rod Classifications

1. 6013: Used for all-position welding of new, clean sheet metal. It features a soft arc for minimal spatter, offers moderate penetration and the slag is easy to clean.
2. 7016 & 7018: Low hydrogen electrodes used where crack free, high integrity welds are essential. Designed to improve both the bead appearance for mild alloyed steel welding in high restraint conditions. 7018's have an iron powder content for a greater deposition rate.
3. 6011; Great for high penetration structural welding where weld integrity is important. An all positional cellulose rod with fast freeze lending itself to overhead & vertical.
4. 316: Designed for welding 316 type chromium-nickel steel. Great finish.
5. 308: This electrode is meant for welding austenitic types of stainless steel. Suitable for 304 as well as some 321 & 347 materials.
6. 309 : Utilised when welding stainless steel to mild steel or low alloys.
7. 312: A basic rutile electrode for difficult to weld or dissimilar materials.
